The Gardens at Peacock Farms is definitely on the list as one of the most beautiful wedding sites the Central Coast has to offer. The flowers and gardens are gorgeous, and it’s easy to get lost in the beauty of them. Justin and Katie recognized that fact when they chose the site for their wedding day celebration. The brick walk ways and patio compliment the fountain and gardens perfectly. Jessica did an amazing job with the flowers, as always. The colors matched the bridesmaid dresses and decor impeccably. The bright and vivid colors of coral and turquoise gave such a vibe of cheerfulness and life. The colors were carried throughout the site from the hanging lanterns to the exquisite and yummy looking candy bar. The ceremony was one of the most involved ceremony’s I’ve ever been a part of. They had a keyboardist, guitarist and two singers. The ceremony was comprised of worship, songs and scripture which were very uplifting and touched everyone in attendance. It was so refreshing to see such young love. You couldn’t help but smile and “awwww” as you watched them together during the ceremony, looking into each other’s eyes and later during the reception as they danced their first dance, Katie and Justin are meant to be.
We had the pleasure of once again collaborating with another DJ company, AMS Entertainment. Sam was the DJ and MC, and we provided the decor lighting which included spot lighting the cake and fountain in a couple of different colors and up-lighting some trees and walls at Eos Estate Winery. We programmed our Vizi Spot Moving heads to color wash the fountain in fuchsia at various times throughout the evening and night. During the cake-cutting, we moved the Vizi Spots to spotlight the cake and couple in white. The effect was impacting and was just what was needed since our lights were the only lights in the reception area. We up-lit ten of the cypress trees around the perimeter of the courtyard in fuchsia and another tree at the entrance in purple. We also up-lit the walls in the alcove below the balcony in purple. This provided such a dramatic glow on the building and provided light for the dance floor area. We added some extra light to the dance floor by aiming down some fixtures from the top of the walls. We programmed them to flash to the beat of the music during some of the dancing. The guests, bride and groom loved it.
Victor and Anna had originally chosen Villa Toscana as the venue for their wedding, but had to choose a new venue after being notified of the bankruptcy. They opted for Edna Valley Vineyard; they had the best of both worlds in choosing this venue. They got to keep Mary from Villa Toscana as their wedding coordinator, but also had Tina from Edna Valley to team with Mary. This is without a doubt, an A-team! The event was flawless and couldn’t have been more perfect for such a divine couple. As soon as we met Victor and Anna, we immediately loved them. They’re so easy going, personable, likable and generous to name a few of their numerous good qualities. During the ceremony and toasts, it was so touching to feel the emotions that were expressed through the words of their loved ones. This couple has touched so many lives not only as individuals, but also as a couple. Mary could be found many a time with tears running down her cheeks as she listened to the ceremony, toasts and watched them dance their first dance and dances that followed. There was no doubt that their guests were there to celebrate as best as they could the union of such a lovely couple. As soon as the dance floor was opened, it was packed. It was so amazing to see the diversity of people that were celebrating together. There were older couples not only dancing together to slow songs, but also getting down to more current and upbeat music. As your eyes wandered to another area of the dance floor, you’d see younger and middle aged groups forming circles and sending out someone to be in the center to show their stuff. Then you’d look to another part and see kids jumping around and dancing as if they’d done it a hundred times before. Several of the kids (Austin in particular!) even came up and made several song requests. Even though there was so much going on in different areas of the dance floor, there was still a togetherness that was felt. Everyone was having such an amazing time and just enjoying the moment. An overwhelming joy and happiness could be felt everywhere. It was a shame to see the festivities come to an end, but there will be many more celebrations for Victor and Anna. Congratulations!
This was our first event at Bianchi Winery, and we were quite impressed, to say the least. The grounds are amazing and the staff at the winery are so accommodating and professional. When we first arrived, we were immediately drawn to the patio adjacent to the tasting room that overlooked a beautiful pond. We could hear the faint trickling of small waterfalls and as we looked out on the surface of the water, movement could be detected. At first it was barely noticeable, but as we continued to look out, we saw several good-sized coy fish and carp of various colors approaching. At first it was only five to ten, but before we knew it, there was twenty to thirty of them. They could spot us from across the pond and had high hopes that we were there to fill their bellies. Steve, the property manager, gave us some of the history of the pond and informed us that these fish were on a “Jenny Craig diet.” He went on to tell us that they were getting fed one hundred pounds of food a month! Now, those are some well fed and content fish, or at least they were, before their diet. Dana and Jenny knew what they were doing when they chose to have their wedding and reception at this spectacular venue. They held their ceremony on the lawn up the hill from the pond and tasting room. Their vows were exchanged under a portion of the crescent shaped trellis. Their backdrop was the green vineyard covered landings. The ceremony was very casual and light hearted. Jenny could be heard giggling and laughing during a good portion of it. Dana and Jenny had been together seven years and there is no doubt that this couple is perfect for each other. They are absolutely adorable together, so happy, in love and full of life. The cocktail hour and reception followed in the tasting room and on the patio. Dana and Jenny had their grand entrance onto the patio and went down onto the deck/dancing floor that sits on the pond’s surface and did their first dance. They flawlessly danced in a ballroom style to their first dance with smiles on their faces with the sparkling water of the pond behind them; it truly was a magical moment. Phil’s Catering provided an excellent BBQ dinner, and soon after the festivities began. It was a windy night with a wind that chilled to the bone. The cake cutting took place in the tasting room and most of the guests found the temperature to be quite comfortable in there, but this couple wasn’t about to let them leave their celebration without some dancing. They came out, with beers in hand, and started dancing and before we knew it, several others joined in. They weren’t about to let them have all the fun on their own. In no time at all, they had forgotten about the cold and the dance floor became a warm and hopping place to be. Before we realized it, it was 9:45 and time to play the last song. The guests boo’d and aww’d as the last dance was announced and pleaded with us to do just “one more!” We wish we could have, but all good things must come to an end; and this was definitely a good thing with many more good things to come for this lovely couple. Congratulations Dana and Jenny!
Chris Bailey was the DJ at my wedding last month, and I couldn’t have picked a better one! All through the planning he was ridiculously easy to work with (Getting on my good side step 1: answer my emails within the hour!) A couple days before the wedding, we had a quick walk-through and meeting–and I say quick because Chris knew exactly what to ask, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. As for the wedding: he was perfect. Since I didn’t have any specific requests for the music before the ceremony, he picked the lineup. His choices were such a big hit, my uncle and cousin were commenting on how much they were enjoying it, and a few minutes later he turned around with some CDs he’d burned for them on the spot. What a cool guy! During the reception, he was spot on again with the music, playing cool jazzy music during dinner, and fun dance beats afterward. As MC, he doesn’t interrupt the action often, and doesn’t try to steal the show–he just does his job, and does it well. My only regret for the wedding was that we were running late and didn’t get the dance floor opened up early enough, because once we did, Chris’s music had the floor jam-packed until the last dance!
Nick and Ashley chose to have their wedding and reception at the impressive Spanish Oaks Ranch in Santa Margarita. The environment of Spanish Oaks is absolutely breath taking. With the greenery, oak trees and surrounding mountains, you feel as if you’re in another world; there’s such a calm and peacefulness that overtakes you. It is one of the coolest places to have a wedding. However, on this day it was far from cool. The temperatures were in the mid 90’s with a light breeze. The weather didn’t stop the guests from coming to celebrate. Nick and Ashley were so easy going and relaxed. They were so happy to see everyone and share their big day with the ones they love. The love and happiness was returned with their nearly hundred guests that filled the seats and were eager to be a part of the special occasion. The ceremony took place under a majestic oak tree adjacent to the barn-style building. The heat caused the dancing to not be as huge of a success as was anticipated, but everyone enjoyed the music selections, the photo booth and the company of friends and family. We learned during the toasts that Nick and Ashley are expecting. Not only was there the celebration of their new life together, but also the new life they created. Many congratulations!!
Nick & Ashley’s review from WeddingWire:
Chris was absolutely amazing! He made the day so easy and fun for all the guest. He was very helpful throughout the whole wedding process picking out music and helping us with the timeline for the big. He was great!!!
Travis and Stephanie could not have asked for a more perfect day. They are from the rainy state of Washington, and it was far from rainy on this day. It doesn’t get much better than having a wedding on the grass at the Avila Beach Golf Resort with the sound of the ocean waves crashing in the background in 85 degree weather. Stephanie and her bridesmaids arrived in a black limousine. Travis’ uncle performed their ceremony, and they exchanged their vows seaside in between sky-high palm trees with children and dogs frolicking in the ocean behind them and the magnificent mountains to their right. The reception was held inside the yellow and white striped tent adjacent to the ceremony site. They had about 8o guests of friends and family to share in their day. The reception was very intimate and relaxed. Halfway through their first dance, Travis grabbed their 2 year old son to join in on their first dance. This was very touching and you could hear “awwww’s” from all around. Stephanie’s Dad surprised her with their father-daughter dance; he chose a song that was special to them, “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman. Once the sun set, the guests made their way to the dance floor and enjoyed the music that the bride and groom had chosen. There was a good mix of country, top 40 and other danceable music. So many things about this day were perfect. What a wonderful way for this lovely couple to begin their life together.
Travis & Stephanie’s review from WeddingWire:
Chris was amazing! He was very personable and professional! He offered his ideas and knew exactly what we wanted and executed it perfectly! Everyone had an wonderful time and we got a lot of compliments on our DJ! Very highly recommended without a doubt!
We had the opportunity to work in collaboration with our friend and fellow DJ, Gy Ryder, again. The bride’s mother hired us to provide amber decor up-lighting around the inside of the Atascadero Lake Pavilion. The interior already had a warmness with the walls being a light brown color, but the amber up-lighting accentuated it and gave the room the elegance that it needed. The lights stayed a static amber for the majority of the day. During the last half hour of dancing, we changed the setting to “audio” and they changed color to the beat of the music. The bride and the guests loved it!
The bride’s review from WeddingWire:
Chris was a pleasure to work with and our wedding venue looked amazing. The uplighting was incredible, even our guests commented how nice it looked. Chris was on time and willing to work within our budget.
Mark and Julie are from Northern California and decided to get married in the magnificent wine country of Paso Robles. All of their guests were from out of the area, so they hired three stretch limousines to shuttle the guests to and from the Paso Inn and Rotta Winery. The ceremony took place in the beautiful gardens of The Paso Inn. The maid of honor is the daughter of the winemaker of Rotta Winery, so they chose this quaint and charming place to hold their reception. This was the first wedding ever for Rotta Winery to host, but you would have never guessed. Everything went as planned and everyone enjoyed themselves. The owners and staff at Rotta Winery were hospitable and a pleasure to work with. The view to take in around the winery was breathtaking. The drive out to the winery takes you through a lovely wooded area, and when you get to the winery, you’re in the middle of vineyard covered hills. The decor up-lighting that we provided complimented all of this natural beauty. We up-lit the the front of the building with fuchsia and the arc of wine barrels that surrounded the patio area in fuchsia and amber. The up-lighting provided the reception area with the extra bit of ambience and color that was needed to tie all the decorations together. It also helped illuminate the seating area around the dance floor. Mark and Julie were so thrilled about everything and made you feel so appreciated.
Mark & Julie’s review from WeddingWire:
Chris Bailey was WONDERFUL at our wedding! He was extremely accommodating, professional and did a beautiful job at providing colored lighting as decor for our setting. He provided everything we asked of him and even unexpectedly recorded our speeches for us to enjoy in the future! He was pleasing to our guests while expertly keeping the energy flowing throughout the evening. We are more than pleased…thank you greatly Chris!
Justin and Krissy chose a great team of wedding professionals to help them make their event smooth running and a moment to remember: Phil’s Catering, Amy Wellenkamp Photographers and me. We were destined to have a great time when you combined this with 250 family and friends in attendance that were ready to party. Of course, having Justin and Krissy as our Bride and Groom was a huge help. They were tons of fun to work with days prior to the wedding day. This couple’s wedding and reception had an extra special personal touch. They chose to start their life together on Justin’s family’s property out in the countryside of Cambria. Their ceremony took place under a big oak tree. The previously working barn on the property was in total ruins; part of the floor had completely given way. The family completely reconstructed it, and made it an optimal location to celebrate and hold their lively reception. The wind was blowing quite hard for everyone outside during the ceremony and cocktail hour, but this didn’t stop the guests from having a fantastic time. Once we were done with the traditions of the reception, the dance floor was packed. Guests of all ages enjoyed dancing to all genres of music: classic rock, 80’s, top 40 and a lot of country. Amy Wellenkamp also recognized how fun this reception was; she later sent me an email saying, “You did an amazing job with this wedding. I have never seen a dance floor so packed…You knew what they wanted! Great job.” This reception was scheduled to end at ten, but with over a hundred guests still having a blast on the dance floor, I played until midnight. This made for a long day, but I have no regrets. This was a night to remember, and it was so much fun to be a part of a celebration like this. Congratulations!
Justin & Krissy’s review from WeddingWire:
Chris was amazing! He was everything we wanted/needed and more. My husband and I just wanted everyone to have a blast and for the dance floor to be full all night long. Chris made it happen! So many people have come up to us and said that our DJ was the best DJ they have ever had. Not only did he play the perfect songs for each event of the night, he also acted as a facilitator and made our night run smoothly. Which is key in having a great wedding. Thank you Chris for doing such a great job!
