I sometimes feel like one of the luckiest people on earth to get paid to do what I love and never get bored with my job. Every wedding and reception is unique and exciting in it’s own way, and I enjoy being a part of each couple’s memorable beginning. Pat and Amanda’s wedding was unique in that the matron of honor and Amanda both walked down their sandy “isle” on the beach in their bare feet. I found this so cool! It was so amazing to be so close to the water’s edge and hear the waves crashing and the sound of seagulls, watch as surfers and boogie boarders took to the waves and smell the salty air as this couple exchanged their wedding vows. The invited guests weren’t the only onlookers that took part in this ceremony. People on the pier and on the beaches stopped, listened and smiled as well. The reception was casual and close knit as many friends and family pitched in to help with set-up, dinner, clean-up and break down. We again had the opportunity and pleasure of enhancing another room with our up-lighting and color washing. The Cayucos Veteran’s Hall is very white inside and out. We added some blue-aquamarine color by up-lighting four columns and color washing some portions of the walls in the reception area inside the building. It helped to transform the room and compliment the decorations that were brought in by the bride and her friends. The money dance was a huge success for Pat and Amanda. I had to add a couple of extra songs to the list because the lines seemed never ending for a long while. It was evident that this couple’s friends and family wanted them to have an awesome honeymoon!
