Our trip to Thousand Oaks for this small backyard wedding was an enjoyable experience all around. It made for a long day to go there and back within 14 hours, but it was well worth the trip. We enjoyed a delicious and intimate lunch at a quaint little “hole in the wall” place called Stella’s Gourmet Restaurant. Stella sat down in the extra chair at our table as she took our order and “shot the breeze” with us for a bit, a truly charming and adorable little lady. After our satisfying lunch, we made our way up into the hills of Thousand Oaks. We walked through the back gate and into a stunningly beautiful backyard. When we looked to our left, we saw a stone waterfall and large concrete waterslide that emptied into a kidney shaped swimming pool. It was all expertly woven into the hillside and almost appeared to be a part of the landscape. The tables and chairs were set up on the lawn to the right amongst two of the four firepits that are on the property. Eric and Bailee exchanged their vows atop the landing above the pool under a wrought iron gazebo that had a sparkling crystal chandelier dangling from the center. Everyone enjoyed scrumptious appetizers and a delicious dinner all with a Mexican flare. It’s no surprise that this couple chose Mexican food for their reception with Bailee being a 7 year veteran to Baja Fresh Mexican Grill. This vivacious group of individuals was definitely ready to party. They were seen kicking up their heels to the background music during cocktail hour and dinner as they walked to and from the bar. When the true dancing commenced, you couldn’t keep most of the guests away from the dance floor. It was entertaining to watch a couple perform several times a silly made up dance routine, but they were thoroughly enjoying themselves, and everyone surrounding them was as well as they laughed and joined in on the fun. We were exhausted on our trip home, but we couldn’t help but smile and relive the pleasurable events of this day and night in Thousand Oaks.
Eric & Bailee’s review from WeddingWire:
What can I say about Chris besides the fact that he is amazing! He was our DJ for our September 20th Wedding. He was extremely professional, reliable, and well prepared. He even traveled down to Westlake Village for our ceremony. I would highly recommend Chris to any couple looking for a special DJ fo their special day. I really enjoyed the fact that Chris let our us move along at our own pace. My husband and I were just sitting down to eat when it was time for our first dance. Chris knew that we needed a few minutes just to relax, so he waited a bit and then asked us if we were ready. I felt at ease knowing that I wasn’t being pushed and that I could enjoying my wedding day at my own pace. After our wedding, all of our guests had wonderful things to say about Chris and his work. Thanks so much Chris for a unforgettable evening!
