Todd and Teresa’s special wedding celebration hit the record books, but not for reasons that a wedding might normally go down in history for. This day was one of the hottest days in North County with temperatures reaching close to 108 degrees. As you can see in the first photo, Teresa and her mother-in-law found an interesting way to keep cool and still enjoy this memorable day. The expression of relief and refreshment says it all! This ceremony and reception had several unique personal and intimate touches to it. The entire event was hosted at Todd’s family ranch on the back roads in the hills of Templeton. The ceremony took place on the front lawn with 40 of their closest family and friends. Teresa’s son walked her down the aisle and gave her away to Todd, and her daughter was the maid of honor. Todd had a strapping young marine decked out in uniform with impressive medals as his best man. It was his very own son who is serving our country as a Marine. The Chaplin who performed the ceremony had an uncommon, yet remarkable style. When it came time for Todd and Teresa to exchange their vows, she walked to the front of the aisle and had them face their guests. This was the first time I had witnessed this style of vow exchange, and I thought it was a lovely touch on conducting the ceremony. The reception immediately followed in the beautifully landscaped back yard. To hold true to this event having a personal touch to it, the guests enjoyed their meals at a large family style table with Todd and Teresa in the middle and in close proximity to all their guests. The couple, family and friends enjoyed visiting, mingling and catching up. I got the impression that this group of people hadn’t seen Todd & Teresa for quite some time as they currently are living in Oregon. This was like a family reunion and wedding all in one. To top it all off, Todd’s mother made the scrumptious multi-flavored and layered cake. Teresa had told me prior to the wedding day that there would be limited dancing, if any at all. A few of the guests and Teresa herself proved her wrong. This was a pleasant and relaxing event. I feel honored to have been chosen to be a part of this unique and personal wedding celebration.

Todd & Teresa’s review from WeddingWire:
Chris did a great job! We planned the wedding from out of the SLO area and went mostly with recommendations from the wedding planner I chose. Chris was recommended and I am glad he was! One of the songs I wanted for the ceremony was new to him, but he found it without a hitch. Also, our ceremony was on one of the hottest days in the area – certainly hotter than normal for end of Sept – but it didn’t seem to both Chris one bit! Our wedding was small but with a wide age range (5 – 80+) – and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves – Chris played a bit of everything and even played guest requests. We have a CD of our ceremony music provided to us by Chris – it all went by so quickly (or it seemed that way to us – I’m sure the guests sitting in 108 degrees didn’t think so) we are glad we can listen to everything again! The only caveat I have for future brides: don’t think picking your music will be a quick little project. Sorting through the universe of music can be daunting and time consuming. Don’t put it off until the last minute – but even if you do or don’t have a clue what is “appropriate” for a particular activity Chris will come through with suggestions to ease the process.
