AGHS talent show #2AGHS talent show #1We provided lighting for the stage at the Arroyo Grande High School annual talent show on a Thursday night. The brave contestants that took the stage were amazing, creative and undoubtedly talented. There were over 20 acts performed in front of a sold out gymnasium.  The judges from the school and a local organization called SLO Friday Night Live had their work cut out for them in choosing a winner. We had solo singers, dance troops, several singer/guitar players, and a couple of talented students playing drums. One student went on stage in complete darkness. The high energy music started and he began his  dance routine with multiple colored glow sticks. The crowd went crazy. There was one act of talent that stood out above the rest. Two female students had an act that took the show to a new height. With two long silk like materials hanging from a 30 foot ceiling, these two girls mesmerized the crowd and judges as they did an acrobatic routine using silk scarves to keep them suspended above the ground. I had seen something like this before in Las Vegas, but never would imagine seeing it at a high school talent show. Congratulations to the silk dancers for winning and good luck at the county wide competition at Cal Poly at the end of this month. A big congratulations as well to every performer. There’s absolutely no doubt that “Arroyo Grande High School’s got talent!”
