What a treat to work another wonderful event at the beautiful Dana-Powers House only a week after the last one. This wedding was an extra special one to be a part of because Mike has been a friend for years, and we have witnessed the love of this couple grow and develop since the very beginning. The night Mike met Erika was when they were out celebrating Chris’ birthday at the Native Lounge in San Luis Obispo. The weather was perfect for their ceremony in the delightful gardens adjacent to the Victorian home. We then moved over to the rustic and charming barn on the property across the bridge. The guests enjoyed appetizers and cocktails out front of the barn and soon after came into the beautifully decorated barn. Orange and fuchsia accents were throughout the interior from the candy bar and lanterns hung from the beams above to the decor up-lighting that we provided around the perimeter walls. When the dancing commenced, there was an abundance of energy and many styles of music and dancing that filled the barn and dance floor throughout the evening. Mike and Erika chose rock, hip hop, and pop to name a few to make up their music list and even some swing and line dancing. The swing dancers were impressive and very entertaining to watch. Mike is known to be quite the jokester and had some tricks up his sleeve. During the garter removal, Mike had a box hidden under Erika’s chair and as he was under her dress with the impression that he was pulling down her garter, he instead pulled out and threw behind him items such as a Big and Rich CD, a rubber chicken, really big panties and some other comical items. At the end of the reception, Mike got on the microphone and announced that he had a box full of keys that were no longer going to be used from “Erika’s former flings” and started pulling out keys as he called out names of some of the guys that were guests. This wedding and reception was special, fun, unique and we were honored to be a part of it. We look forward to continuing to watch Mike and Erika’s love develop throughout the years. Many congrats and good wishes to our friends!
Mike & Erika’s review from WeddingWire:
Chris was always well prepared and organizd for our meetings. He took care of all the details and running the timeline for our wedding to the point where I didn’t even have to coordinate with him the day of. He has a great personality and really knew how to coordinate the activities and music with the type of crowd we had at our reception! All the guest commented to me about how great our DJ was and I’d like to pass those compliments on to Chris. The uplighting was a fantastic touch and really dressed up our reception! Thank you so much, Chris!
