Holland Ranch Wedding & Lighting – September 3, 2011

A huge “Thank You!!” to Jonathan Roberts of Bluephoto Wedding Photography for these amazing photos.

Every wedding and reception is special and memorable at the Holland Ranch in San Luis Obispo. Shannon and Ryan added to the uniqueness of this venue by bringing in a few extras. One of these “extras” was the Enjoy Cupcakes trailer. As their website says, “Guests will ENJOY treats served out of an adorable restored vintage Shasta trailer…twinkling lights, a festive canopy & a wafting sweet smell will make your event unique & unforgettable.” They definitely accomplished this. Another extra was the lighting they had us provide in various areas outside. We did amber up-lighting on a couple of the trees and other landscaping along the driveway (as seen as the backdrop in the antique car photo) and also on the front of the barn. This was the first time we did full lighting at the Holland Ranch and the effects were elegant and dramatic. The last “extra” we’re highlighting is the gorgeous and pristine Cadillac that Ryan and Shannon drove away in as they started their new life together. What a perfect finale to an absolutely perfect celebration! Congratulations to this beautiful couple!

Avila Beach Resort Wedding – August 27, 2011

Meaghan and Nolan tied the knot at the Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and celebrated their wedding reception at the Avila Beach Resort. They chose the big yellow and white tent that overlooks the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Before starting the festivities, the newlyweds snuck away in one of the golf carts to have their pictures taken on the golf course. Meaghan and Nolan had a large wedding party and a very spirited one at that. Each couple chose a song to be introduced into the tent and each of the couples had a routine to the song they chose. The guests loved it and it energized the rest of the room. This set the bar high for the rest of the night. The guests were very lively and loved to dance to new and old styles of music.

Chris was very easy to work with and did a great job of creating the atmosphere my husband and I wanted! even when things didnt goes as planned… which happens, not everything can go exactly as you plan when there are that many people involved.. law of weddings lol. The Cliffs Resort Wedding – August 26, 2011

The Cliffs Resort has several great options for Weddings and Receptions. One of them being the breathtaking ceremonies on the grass overlooking the ocean. Another is cocktail hour on the lawn or the on the pool side terrace. Receptions can take place in a tent on the grass or in the ballroom. Juan and Sandy chose to have their reception in the ballroom after their “I do’s” between the palm trees overlooking our beautiful ocean. These two wanted it to be a fun party, and we accomplished that at the beginning with the Grand Entrance of the bridal party. We split them into groups: the bridesmaids at one door, the groomsmen at another door and the bride and groom at the middle door. The ladies were introduced to the song “Ladies Night” as they made their way into the ballroom doing a little dance. That really got the crowd going. The guys were next to come into the song “Teach Me How To Dougie;” this pumped up the crowd even more. Lastly, Juan and Sandy made their entrance, and the crowd went absolutely crazy! They went right into their first dance, and the party was under way. They kept going throughout the night. This was an energetic group whose goal was to have a great time and celebrate to the fullest.

Bianchi Winery Wedding – August 21, 2011

Trent and Jaimie tied the knot at one of the many wineries on the Central Coast. Each of the wineries has something that sets it apart and makes it its own. Bianchi Winery is one of the coolest venues we have in the area and has many beautiful and unique features outside. One of these features is the breathtaking views of the vineyards from the ceremony site and where Trent and Jaimie chose to exchange their vows. They had their reception on the patio off the tasting room that overlooks the gorgeous coy pond; this was the backdrop for dinner. The dance floor is set below the patio and is suspended onto the coy pond. This was an amazing backdrop for the first dances with the sun setting behind them. We got lucky with the weather as the wind stayed to a minimum and the temperature stayed comfortable throughout the night. The guests enjoyed themselves on the dance floor and at one of the most beautiful wineries in our area.

He even helped me and my wedding party keep on track during the wedding day since my wedding planner didn’t have an assistant. Avila Lighthouse Suites Wedding – August 20, 2011

We feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of a couple’s wedding day. This wedding was no exception! Kalen and Nicole were such a blast to work with. They had such an abundance of energy glowing from them. They are the type of people that infect (in a positive way) the people around them with their joy, love and optimism. It’s extremely contagious. There are those couples that we just click with and these two were one of those couples. It was the type of wedding we looked forward to doing and thoroughly enjoyed being involved in. They had their wedding ceremony on the sun deck of the Avila Lighthouse Suites. The reception was in the banquet room on site. We emphasized the already “beachy” theme of the venue with our turquoise up lighting around the room. Photo booths have become a new trend in the wedding industry within the last couple of years. Kalen and Nicole took their photo booth to a different level with a green screen backdrop. This allowed the guests to choose different settings to have as the backdrop in their pictures. This was very unique and different and something that the guests really enjoyed. The overwhelming energy of Kalen and Nicole was felt everywhere in the room and throughout the whole evening. It was an upbeat and fun event. Thank you and congratulations to you both!

We hired Bailey Entertainment to do our wedding ceremony, reception and lighting for our special day on August 20th in Avila Beach. One word: WOW! Chris Bailey was so wonderful to us, start to finish. Out of all the wedding vendors I worked with, he was the most fun, professional and genuine. I work in the hospitality industry so I have seen other DJ’s at local events and I must say this is the best DJ company on the Central Coast. Madonna Inn Decor Lighting – August 20, 2011

We have the pleasure of doing many events each year in the Venetian Room of the Madonna Inn. No matter what the color, it looks amazing and completely transforms the ambiance of the room. The Ashers were going for a fun and colorful look and chose the colors of apple green and fuschia. We up-lit all the pillars in the room, the solid beige walls and the fireplace.

It was a pleasure working with Chris and Dionne. We had one of the mural walls in our wedding venue get painted over and were stuck with a solid beige wall. Even though the lighting was not in our original budget, we soon had to figure out how to jazz up our walls. Chris really worked with our budget and made it possible for us to have the beautiful lighting make up for the bland wall. It turned up even better than we expected, and really added a nice glow to our event. Chris was very professional and timely in getting back to our numerious questions and concerns via email, as we were planning this wedding from out of the area. The lighting was up early and taken down in a timely fashion aswell. It was a great pleasure working with Chris and his team. I would recommend his company to anyone looking to add that extra pizazzaz to their wedding or special event.

Holland Ranch Wedding – August 13, 2011

Another one of our absolute favorite places to work is Holland Ranch in San Luis Obispo. It’s always a joy to work with Jamie Holland Strand and her family. It pretty much feels like a home away from home when we’re there. The area is absolutely gorgeous everywhere you look around the ranch. You feel such a part of nature as you look around at the cascading hills, the pond and the horses in the pastures. Melinda and Greg had their ceremony down under the arch with a magnificent mountain as their backdrop. Everyone came up to the barn area and had cocktail hour and dinner outside on the patio under the venetian lighting. They were entertained with live music by one of the couple’s friends who is a very talented singer and guitarist. All his music was original and written by him. The celebration then moved inside the barn for the dancing and festivities. There was a bit of a baseball rivalry at this event. Greg and many of his friends and family are big-time SF Giants fans while Melinda’s family and friends were Dodger fans. Melinda requested Giants’ themed spin-off songs in honor of Greg’s side like the popular “G-force” song as “G-men” instead and “Don’t Stop Believin’” with a Giants twist. These songs were a huge hit and got everyone pumped up. This was a very fun and energetic group of people, and the dance floor was always full.

Dana Powers Barn Wedding – July 30, 2011

As we’ve mentioned in previous blogs, we absolutely love working at The Dana Powers House and Barn. Judy Powers has such a gift for creativity and unique decorating ideas. It seems that each time we go there she’s offering a new decorative option or detail to the brides and grooms. Last time we were there we saw the new and beautiful chandeliers that she offers inside the barn. This time we experienced the french door screens she offers on the ceremony platform. It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before, and it was such a perfect balance of vintage-style decor and the natural beauty of the hills and landscape surrounding it. It looked like something out of a wedding or home magazine. It was a beautiful backdrop for Brandon and Eva’s ceremony. They also had gorgeous weather for their perfect wedding day. They chose a different type of decor accent for their reception inside the barn. They hired us to do some purple up-lighting on the wall behind the head table. This wall has a collection of antique and vintage mirrors on it. The decor lighting reflecting off the mirrors and on the rustic barn wood looked amazing. It created an ambiance that couldn’t of been done with any other decorative accent. Brandon and Eva had a vision in mind for their wedding and they definitely accomplished it. Congratulations!

Avila Beach Resort Wedding – July 29, 2011

The Avila Beach Resort is one of the venues that has been hosting weddings and receptions for many years. Many couples use this venue for their destination wedding, as Mark and Victoria did. The property has a great lawn area with a steller back drop of the ocean. This is where Mark and Victoria said their “I do’s” and started their life as a married couple together. After their ceremony, everyone moved into the tent just a few steps away. Mark and Victoria were very creative with their first dance and thoroughly entertained their guests. Victoria is a very talented dancer and they choreographed a dance routine that started out romantically to the “Beauty and the Beast” song and then went into a more fun and lively routine to the song “Tootsie Roll.” It ended back with the “Beauty and the Beast.” This was a Friday, mid-day wedding for many out of town guests. It was a perfect opportunity for not only being a part of a beautiful union, but also being able to enjoy our spectacular central coast for the rest of the weekend.

Decor Lighting at Sea Venture Resort – July 23, 2011

The Sea Venture Resort is one of those ideal venues if what you’re looking for is to be right on the beach; you don’t get much closer than this! It’s just a few short steps for sand ceremonies and then you also get the breathtaking ocean views from the third story reception area. We provided decor up-lighting around the dance floor in the reception area. The low ceilings caused the lighting to just glow throughout the whole room. The bride chose the color fuschia which really enhanced the room and created a romantic yet fun ambiance. Decor lighting has the power to create what ever mood you desire.
