Sean of AMS Entertainment hired us to up-light the ballroom at The Cliffs Resort. The colors of the decorations were blue and yellow. The bride and groom chose for us to use blue for the light fixtures. We washed all the four walls of the room in blue and also put lights under the sweetheart table and cake table; this produced a stunning bluish glow through the linens. This was a very outgoing and upbeat couple and they wanted to add a little extra fun and “oomph” to their dancing. We programmed the lights to change colors to the beat of the music. Sean also used this feature during the grand entrance which was very impressive.

They chose the impressive Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda as their venue. The rose gardens and pool were spectacular, and the room had a classiness and elegance that you can’t find anywhere on the Central Coast. We weren’t the only vendors from the Central Coast who were privileged enough to experience this memorable event. Jimmy and Linda from Jimmy De Photography were there capturing all the memories with their cameras. We began the evening outside in the rose garden area where guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from a couple of drink stations with one of their specialties being sangria. They also had the opportunity to tour the site and experience some of the history of our presidents and nation. The Richard Nixon birth site, the Presidential Helicopter and the rose garden were just a few of these historical areas to see. After about an hour of this, the 350 guests made their way into the ballroom to find their seats. This room was unbelievable with glorious chandeliers that hung from high ceilings, almost full length paintings of presidents, four fireplaces, full length golden curtains and so much more. The amber up-lighting that we provided complimented and enhanced these decorations perfectly. The bridal party, which included several ring bearers and flower girls, were introduced and received a warm welcome. Brian and Kerilyn then made their grand entrance and went right into their first dance which was a very well choreographed ballroom dance. They had been taking lessons and it showed; they did a phenomenal job. Kerilyn looked like Cinderella with her prince as she twirled and danced across the dance floor in this magnificent ballroom, and this reception was definitely one fit for a queen, or a princess in this case. The catering staff and meal were impeccable, to say the least. Each course that was served wasn’t only beautiful to look at, it tasted just as good, if not even better. We felt like judges from a show on the Food Network giving them full scores on appearance, presentation, creativity and taste. The catering staff paraded out in formation, each holding two plates for each course, and they served all 350 guests in ten minutes or less. The dancing held up to these standards as well. This couple’s friends and family were here to have a fabulous time and celebrate this momentous occasion to it’s fullest. We were shocked when it was 12:30 am and time to say good-bye to everyone. The evening had flown by like a good fairy tale book. It would be easy to go on and on about how spectacular and impressive everything about this event was for us. This was a one-of-a-kind and unforgettable wedding experience!

There’s not much that compares to exchanging vows on the cliffs of Shell Beach with the melodic sound of waves crashing as the sun sets into the magnificent Pacific Ocean and Avila Hills. This was a very intimate wedding with a group of about forty guests. Dave and Diana chose a string quartet to play during their ceremony and cocktail hour which coincided perfectly with the elegance of the surroundings. It was a warm, beautiful night, so we decided to have the formal dances under the stars on the patio and then invited the guests inside for the remainder of the dancing. This wedding and reception was a pleasure to be a part of; I always enjoy and look forward to doing events at Dolphin Bay. This was a beautiful beginning to a life together, and I wish Dave and Diana the best that their life has to offer.

The ceremony took place at a different location than the past two. Another one of their locations to exchange vows is outside, adjacent to the barn, where the majestic oak trees and hills of our gorgeous area fill the backdrop. There’s a nice lawn area with an arbor on a wooden stage which Tom and Andrea had beautifully decorated with fabric cascading down in various spots with flowers accenting the corners. This adorable and creative couple had chosen three songs that were very eklectic choices that I had never heard before. Once the ceremony ended the guests enjoyed appetizers and drinks in front of the barn while the bride and groom took pictures. The guests also thoroughly enjoyed the photo booth with all of the crazy hats, wigs and other fun accessories. The reception started with a diverse variety of background music that the guests were able to appreciate while eating. A couple of toasts were given and then came their first dance. Tom and Andrea just couldn’t be the center of attention by themselves anymore, they had barely begun dancing when they signaled their guests to join them on the dance floor and share the moment with them. Their guests didn’t need to be asked more than once; they jumped up and joined in. The dance floor was packed and this group wanted more and danced to a few more songs. I then made the announcement that s’mores were available outside. Once again, this group didn’t need to be asked more than once, this cleared the barn in no time flat. Tom and Andrea had put together little bags of s’mores ingredients for each person there. This was a first for me and it was a huge success. Everybody loved this fun and creative addition to the celebration. After about twenty minutes, the bride, groom and guests made there way back to the dance floor where there was now an ice cream brownie bar set up! Wow! They, without a doubt, knew how the way to these people’s hearts, and that’s through all of their sweet teeth. This was a huge hit as well. Once they were done with their desserts, it was time to burn off some of those calories, and they were ready to dance the night away. This was a great group of family and friends. Everyone had a great time. Congratulations Tom and Andrea.

Tom & Andrea’s review from WeddingWire:

In a desperate attempt to cut costs, my fiancee and I seriously considered replacing a DJ with an iPod…that is until we met Chris Bailey. We are EXTREMELY glad we scrapped the iPod idea and hired a professional. Chris Bailey is just that — a professional. He is organized, friendly, fun, accommodating and knows how to read a crowd. He has all the equipment you could ever need and an extensive music library. From the moment we met Chris we knew our wedding would turn out great. Our wedding was last Saturday and I can now definitively say that he did an outstanding job! Not only was our wedding beautiful, Chris made it fun and memorable! We are so glad that we made the choice to hire Chris.

Adam and his family are drag racers and own a couple of really hot drag cars. In some cases brides and grooms will have their dog in the ceremony, not Adam and Erika. They had three of their 800 horsepower classic dragsters in their ceremony. While the music of AC/DC’s “Back in Black” was playing, Adam and his groomsmen drove the race cars down the driveway to the back of the ceremony stage at The Holland Ranch. It was impressive to hear the roar of the engines as you felt it in your gut at the same time. What a rush! The guests were so excited and chuckled as the song played while the cars made their grand entrance. After the ceremony, the cars were moved to be displayed on the lawn and a new 2010 Chevy Camaro joined the group. A new “head turner” was brought alongside the old. The reception was in the barn up the hill from the ceremony site. Adam had to keep with the car theme even during the garter removal. He rolled under Erika’s dress on his back on a mechanic’s creeper. Everyone loved it, this time the roar was from the laughter of the guests. From the introductions of the wedding party to the last dance, Adam, Erika, their families and friends had a great time. So much so, that they didn’t want the fun, dancing and celebrating to end. The family decided to extend the celebration for another hour. As if there wasn’t already enough excitement to go around, Erika asked for it to be announced that they would be leaving in the new Camaro that had been given to them as a surprise wedding gift! Wow! This was, without a doubt, an event to remember!

When we first met up with Cris Biely, we could tell we would be in the right hands. His enthusiasm really shown through as he walked us through the steps we needed to take to make our event successful. His suggestions and knowledge helped us when we found ourselves a little unsure of the exact song we wanted or mood we wanted to set at certain stages of the ceremony. His professionalism and abilities filled in the blanks we needed for everything to go off without a hitch and have family and friends congratulating us on such an enjoyable time. We definitely will consider using him in the future for other special events.Thank you Chris for all your hard work!!!

This wedding was an extra special one to be a part of because Mike has been a friend for years, and we have witnessed the love of this couple grow and develop since the very beginning. The night Mike met Erika was when they were out celebrating Chris’ birthday at the Native Lounge in San Luis Obispo. The weather was perfect for their ceremony in the delightful gardens adjacent to the Victorian home. We then moved over to the rustic and charming barn on the property across the bridge. The guests enjoyed appetizers and cocktails out front of the barn and soon after came into the beautifully decorated barn. Orange and fuchsia accents were throughout the interior from the candy bar and lanterns hung from the beams above to the decor up-lighting that we provided around the perimeter walls. When the dancing commenced, there was an abundance of energy and many styles of music and dancing that filled the barn and dance floor throughout the evening. Mike and Erika chose rock, hip hop, and pop to name a few to make up their music list and even some swing and line dancing. The swing dancers were impressive and very entertaining to watch. Mike is known to be quite the jokester and had some tricks up his sleeve. During the garter removal, Mike had a box hidden under Erika’s chair and as he was under her dress with the impression that he was pulling down her garter, he instead pulled out and threw behind him items such as a Big and Rich CD, a rubber chicken, really big panties and some other comical items. At the end of the reception, Mike got on the microphone and announced that he had a box full of keys that were no longer going to be used from “Erika’s former flings” and started pulling out keys as he called out names of some of the guys that were guests. This wedding and reception was special, fun, unique and we were honored to be a part of it. We look forward to continuing to watch Mike and Erika’s love develop throughout the years. Many congrats and good wishes to our friends!

Chris was always well prepared and organizd for our meetings. He took care of all the details and running the timeline for our wedding to the point where I didn’t even have to coordinate with him the day of. He has a great personality and really knew how to coordinate the activities and music with the type of crowd we had at our reception! All the guest commented to me about how great our DJ was and I’d like to pass those compliments on to Chris. The uplighting was a fantastic touch and really dressed up our reception! Thank you so much, Chris!

We now have some awesome and versatile moving head lights that we’re using at our events. There are several colors and gobos programmed within the lights; the possibilities are endless. These lights offer a professional and impressive addition to much more than just the dance floor. We programmed the lights to spot light a cake in white and color-wash a fountain in fuchsia from a balcony at Eos Estate Winery. We also programmed them using one of the internal gobos to cover a portion of the ceiling and wall in a room with slowly rotating stars with a red background at Madonna Inn‘s Expo Center. Again, the possibilities are endless and these are only a few of the options that are available with these high-tech lights.

Below are two videos of the lights on audio moving to the beat of the music at The Dana-Powers Barn.

From the moment I met them, I was excited they made the decision to have me as their DJ / MC. Our personalities just seemed to click from the start. The wedding and reception took place at one of the Central Coast’s prime wedding venues, The Dana-Powers House. It houses spectacular gardens of roses and an array of other vibrantly colored flowers. The ceremony happened on the lawn adjacent to the beautiful and historic Victorian home. The couple and guests were surrounded by the lush green grass and gardens. Jon’s father played the piano while the mothers, bridesmaids and bride made their way to the gazebo to begin the ceremony. During the ceremony two of Jon’s groomsmen sang while playing their guitars. This was one of the most impressive ceremonies I have been a part of; there was such musical talent and everything just seemed to flow to perfection. Once the ceremony was over the guests were invited to the back patio area for cocktails and appetizers. When I met with Jon and Jenny a few weeks prior to their wedding day, they mentioned that the guests attending would be coming from all over the state and country. It was going to be a big family reunion, and they weren’t very confident that a lot of dancing would take place; we were all in for a pleasant surprise. After the dinner and toasts, I invited the bride and groom to the dance floor for their first dance. The guests followed close behind to take part in the festivities. They circled around them during their first dance with hands in the air and were so excited to celebrate with them on this momentous occasion. I played back a part of their vows in unison with the music during their first dance. They had no idea that I had recorded the ceremony for them and had inserted it into the song. They were shocked, surprised and appreciated how I had added to making their first dance even more unforgettable. This was my first time doing this, and the reaction I received was positive, to say the least. I would like to say that this entire group was amazing. These guys and gals danced the night away. Everyone was singing along, jumping around and going crazy up until the last dance. This wedding and reception was one to remember. Thank you Jon and Jenny for choosing me to be a part of your day.

Jon & Jenny’s review from WeddingWire:
Chris was spectacular! His attention to our desires/needs was impeccable and we were so happy with the music selection during our reception! The guests had an absolute blast! He also did a few extra things for us as a surprise that really “wrapped the wedding together” nicely. He is a wonderful person who truly cares about the wedding he is working with. Not a doubt in my mind that we would recommend Chris for any wedding/occasion that music services are needed.

** Many thanks to Mark Nakamura of Nakamura’s Photography for providing us with these fantastic photos **

The flowers and gardens are gorgeous, and it’s easy to get lost in the beauty of them. Justin and Katie recognized that fact when they chose the site for their wedding day celebration. The brick walk ways and patio compliment the fountain and gardens perfectly. Jessica did an amazing job with the flowers, as always. The colors matched the bridesmaid dresses and decor impeccably. The bright and vivid colors of coral and turquoise gave such a vibe of cheerfulness and life. The colors were carried throughout the site from the hanging lanterns to the exquisite and yummy looking candy bar. The ceremony was one of the most involved ceremony’s I’ve ever been a part of. They had a keyboardist, guitarist and two singers. The ceremony was comprised of worship, songs and scripture which were very uplifting and touched everyone in attendance. It was so refreshing to see such young love. You couldn’t help but smile and “awwww” as you watched them together during the ceremony, looking into each other’s eyes and later during the reception as they danced their first dance, Katie and Justin are meant to be.

Sam was the DJ and MC, and we provided the decor lighting which included spot lighting the cake and fountain in a couple of different colors and up-lighting some trees and walls at Eos Estate Winery. We programmed our Vizi Spot Moving heads to color wash the fountain in fuchsia at various times throughout the evening and night. During the cake-cutting, we moved the Vizi Spots to spotlight the cake and couple in white. The effect was impacting and was just what was needed since our lights were the only lights in the reception area. We up-lit ten of the cypress trees around the perimeter of the courtyard in fuchsia and another tree at the entrance in purple. We also up-lit the walls in the alcove below the balcony in purple. This provided such a dramatic glow on the building and provided light for the dance floor area. We added some extra light to the dance floor by aiming down some fixtures from the top of the walls. We programmed them to flash to the beat of the music during some of the dancing. The guests, bride and groom loved it.
