Avila Beach Resort Wedding – August 27, 2011

Meaghan and Nolan tied the knot at the Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and celebrated their wedding reception at the Avila Beach Resort. They chose the big yellow and white tent that overlooks the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Before starting the festivities, the newlyweds snuck away in one of the golf carts to have their pictures taken on the golf course. Meaghan and Nolan had a large wedding party and a very spirited one at that. Each couple chose a song to be introduced into the tent and each of the couples had a routine to the song they chose. The guests loved it and it energized the rest of the room. This set the bar high for the rest of the night. The guests were very lively and loved to dance to new and old styles of music.

Chris was very easy to work with and did a great job of creating the atmosphere my husband and I wanted! even when things didnt goes as planned… which happens, not everything can go exactly as you plan when there are that many people involved.. law of weddings lol. Chris handled the “unexpected events” with experience and made everything work! most importantly he made sure my husband and i were stress free and made sure we knew that it was all about what we wanted…. thank you Chris for helping to make our day so fun and easy!!!!!!!!

The Avila Beach Resort is one of the venues that has been hosting weddings and receptions for many years. Many couples use this venue for their destination wedding, as Mark and Victoria did. The property has a great lawn area with a steller back drop of the ocean. This is where Mark and Victoria said their “I do’s” and started their life as a married couple together. After their ceremony, everyone moved into the tent just a few steps away. Mark and Victoria were very creative with their first dance and thoroughly entertained their guests. Victoria is a very talented dancer and they choreographed a dance routine that started out romantically to the “Beauty and the Beast” song and then went into a more fun and lively routine to the song “Tootsie Roll.” It ended back with the “Beauty and the Beast.” This was a Friday, mid-day wedding for many out of town guests. It was a perfect opportunity for not only being a part of a beautiful union, but also being able to enjoy our spectacular central coast for the rest of the weekend.

Michael and Rachel Du Val exchanged their wedding vows on one of the nicest days of the year so far. Clear blue skies, a slight breeze and a beautiful back drop of the Pacific Ocean. The day was perfect and felt as if Spring had sprung a few weeks early. They had a close friend, who is a pastor from their church, marry them on the lawn adjacent to the tent where the reception was taking place. The view of the grassy green slopes of the golf course were the backdrop for their ceremony. The Avila Beach Resort was set for a comfortable one hundred guests and provided a great lunch for everyone to enjoy. This group was a fun to work for as they enjoyed songs from all genres of music. From fast dance songs to slow, they were having a great time celebrating with Michael, Rachael and their families. It was obvious the amount of love and closeness that was shared throughout the tent. This was especially evident with the way the reception came to a close. They all made a circle with arms around each other and enjoyed the last song together, “The time of your life” by Green Day. Congratulations, and I hope you had a fantastic time in Kauai. Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day celebration.

Travis & Stephanie Brazier Wedding – June 4, 2010

Travis and Stephanie could not have asked for a more perfect day. They are from the rainy state of Washington, and it was far from rainy on this day. It doesn’t get much better than having a wedding on the grass at the Avila Beach Golf Resort with the sound of the ocean waves crashing in the background in 85 degree weather. Stephanie and her bridesmaids arrived in a black limousine. Travis’ uncle performed their ceremony, and they exchanged their vows seaside in between sky-high palm trees with children and dogs frolicking in the ocean behind them and the magnificent mountains to their right. The reception was held inside the yellow and white striped tent adjacent to the ceremony site. They had about 8o guests of friends and family to share in their day. The reception was very intimate and relaxed. Halfway through their first dance, Travis grabbed their 2 year old son to join in on their first dance. This was very touching and you could hear “awwww’s” from all around. Stephanie’s Dad surprised her with their father-daughter dance; he chose a song that was special to them, “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman. Once the sun set, the guests made their way to the dance floor and enjoyed the music that the bride and groom had chosen. There was a good mix of country, top 40 and other danceable music. So many things about this day were perfect. What a wonderful way for this lovely couple to begin their life together.

Andy and Meghan Rice Reception – January 23, 2010

Andy and Meghan had their ceremony six weeks earlier in San Francisco. The newlyweds were beaming and had such an aura around them. About two hundred people travelled to the tent at Avila Beach Golf Resort to celebrate this couple’s new life together. They enjoyed three hours of background music, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as they mingled and enjoyed the beautiful afternoon in Avila. Mother nature was also celebrating with and honoring this lovely couple. It had been storming on the Central Coast for most of the week prior to Saturday, but it was blue skies and warm on this day. Little girls dressed in adorable dresses were kicking off their patten leather shoes and running around barefoot on the grass in front of the tent. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate love and the beautiful area that we live in. Congratulations Andy and Meghan!

Cameron & Chrissie Vaughn Wedding – August 29, 2009

Avila Beach is one of the most popular and loved beaches on our coast to tourists and locals alike. Today proved to illustrate why this is. It was a beautiful summer-like day at Avila Beach Golf Resort. It was near 100 degree weather the 3 days prior to Cameron and Chrissie’s wedding, but Mother Nature was smiling on this lovely couple, and she wanted their day to be perfect. They exchanged their vows seaside in between sky-high palm trees with children and dogs frolicking in the ocean behind them and the magnificent mountains to their right. The reception was held inside the yellow and white striped tent adjacent to the ceremony site. We even had some special four-legged guests grace us with their presence. Three deer just couldn’t help coming around to see what all the fuss was about and graze close to the tent and ceremony site. The weather remained pleasant for the rest of the night as the couple and guests enjoyed a delicious meal, wedding formalities and dancing. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Vaughn.

Arroyo Grande High School Prom – May 16, 2009

Since graduating from Arroyo Grande High School in 1992, I have had the honor and pleasure to be a part of numerous proms with AGHS. All have taken place at the Avila Beach Golf Resort. This year’s theme was ”Under the Stars.” It was great to see 800 plus young adults having the time of their lives. They were dressed to the hilt in their beautiful dresses and stylish suits and tuxedos. There was no doubt that these students had a blast and enjoyed the night under the stars to the fullest. Congratulations to the Class of 2009!
