Madonna Inn Decor Lighting – August 20, 2011

We have the pleasure of doing many events each year in the Venetian Room of the Madonna Inn. No matter what the color, it looks amazing and completely transforms the ambiance of the room. The Ashers were going for a fun and colorful look and chose the colors of apple green and fuschia. We up-lit all the pillars in the room, the solid beige walls and the fireplace.

It was a pleasure working with Chris and Dionne. We had one of the mural walls in our wedding venue get painted over and were stuck with a solid beige wall. Even though the lighting was not in our original budget, we soon had to figure out how to jazz up our walls. Chris really worked with our budget and made it possible for us to have the beautiful lighting make up for the bland wall. It turned up even better than we expected, and really added a nice glow to our event. Chris was very professional and timely in getting back to our numerious questions and concerns via email, as we were planning this wedding from out of the area. The lighting was up early and taken down in a timely fashion aswell. It was a great pleasure working with Chris and his team. I would recommend his company to anyone looking to add that extra pizazzaz to their wedding or special event.

Once again, we had the wonderful opportunity to join forces with our friend and fellow DJ, Bob of Phase 1 Mobile DJ. This couple he was DJ’ing for in the Venetian Room of the famous and historic Madonna Inn, decided pretty last minute that they wanted some more color for their special day. They were unaware of the mural on the far wall being painted over, so they decided to add some color to the wall and remainder of the room instead. We did sapphire blue decor lighting on this wall, the front wall and the pillars around the dance floor. What a dramatic and transforming effect this had on the room. The Venetian Room already has a lot of character which is a standard for the Madonna Inn, so our lighting only complimented and enhanced this. Not only do we enjoy working with Bob, but we also love working with the event coordinators at Madonna Inn (especially Kristen!). They are so pleasant, fun and appreciative and make the jobs there all the more fun.

Madonna Inn Birthday Bash – May 14, 2011

What a fun and lively birthday bash for an obviously special forty year old, Becky! Her husband, Theo, wanted to make sure his wife’s 40th birthday was one to remember. They went with an eighties themed costume party. He wanted lighting to match the vibe and atmosphere, so we made it fun and lively as well! We did color wall washing on the back and side walls and did up-lighting on the pillars as well. We did lighting in purple, fuchsia and turquoise. The beauty of decor lighting is you can create any mood, ambiance or atmosphere that you desire. This group was having so much fun that the Madonna staff had to turn on the house-lights to end the party at midnight because there were still more than twenty people dancing! We were proud to be a part of this creative and vivacious celebration.

Alex & Jenessa Lowden Wedding – November 20, 2010

Alex and Jenessa are such a vivacious and fun couple and had a well thought out vision when they were planning their wedding. We met with them three times and thoroughly enjoyed every minute that was spent with them. There was no doubt that this reception was going to be a blast. From the moment the guests arrived, they were wowed by the turquoise decor lighting we provided to enhance the ambiance of their reception at the Madonna Inn in the Venetian room. The grand entrance was one of the most innovative introductions we have done in a long time. The groomsmen came in from a far right side door to the song “Men in Black”, the bridesmaids came in from the main entrance to “Bad Girl” and the bride and groom from the far left side door where the guests were seated. We used a follow spot light to illuminate area and draw the attention of the guests to each of the entrances. Alex and Jenessa’s vision for their wedding reception was for it to be elegant and unique and for their guests to have a great time. From their grand entrance right to the last dance the dance floor was open to all. We played dance music throughout the evening and if guests wanted to dance during dinner or in-between courses, they were encouraged to do so. This group was accepting to this as they danced the night away. The in love, adorable and happy couple had their last dance, said good-bye and made their grand exit to start their new lives together later in the night. However, the rest of the group wasn’t ready to let the night end. We went an extra hour because of the energy of the guests. Everyone was so hospitable, appreciative and grateful for the services we provided; not only Alex and Jenessa, but also their families and the majority of the guests. We were sincerely thanked by several people throughout the night and as we were packing up. It was such an immense pleasure to be a part of this celebration of love and life. A big thank you from us to everyone involved!

This vender was amazing! To all brides out there I would highly recommend him. Chris not only worked on helping us with all the little detail he was all about what the bride wanted. At times we had so many opinions but the one that mattered to him the most was the bride and groom. The day of the wedding he was super! He came over after we entered and got our drinks for us. His assistant all night was making sure we had refills and were happy with everything. The whole place lit up beautifully with his back lighting. There is to much to say about Chris but to sum it all up He Is AMAZING!!!!

We now have some awesome and versatile moving head lights that we’re using at our events. There are several colors and gobos programmed within the lights; the possibilities are endless. These lights offer a professional and impressive addition to much more than just the dance floor. We programmed the lights to spot light a cake in white and color-wash a fountain in fuchsia from a balcony at Eos Estate Winery. We also programmed them using one of the internal gobos to cover a portion of the ceiling and wall in a room with slowly rotating stars with a red background at Madonna Inn‘s Expo Center. Again, the possibilities are endless and these are only a few of the options that are available with these high-tech lights.

Enercon Holiday Party – December 18, 2009

We had so much fun being a part of this holiday party. The joy of the Christmas spirit was abundant not only during the event, but during set-up as well. The organizers of the party, Tony and Leslie, were a pleasure to work with. Everything was so fresh and exciting to them, and their joy was contagious. They made an excellent choice in adding decor up-lighting to the event. They chose the Enercon color of blue to color wash the walls and up-light the rock pillars in the Venetian Room at the Madonna Inn. The color really enhanced the room, complimented the other blue decorations and gave the ambience of a wintery day. The employees were given raffle tickets for some pretty extravagant gifts. Chris got to play Santa and announce the winners and help hand out gifts that contained things such as an iPod touch, a Tom-Tom, flip video cameras and a surround sound system. This was a lively group that was entertaining to watch on the dance floor. They had plenty of music requests that left them dancing into the night. They were enjoying themselves so much that they weren’t ready to have the night end at 11:00; they chose to add on an additional hour and keep the party going. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end…until next year!

Holiday Party Up-lighting – December 12, 2009

When we were first told about the colors for this event, we were skeptical, to say the least. Turquoise and orange were the colors requested for the decor up-lighting, and when we walked in and looked at the table clothes, napkins and drapery, we were shocked at how well it all came together. The theme of this holiday party was a Mad Hatter/Scrooge flare with a Winter Wonderland ambience. The Venetian room at Madonna Inn was bustling with several event professionals all working together to make this party amazing, and amazing it definitely was. We provided turquoise color washing on most of the back wall with a warming orange glow around and behind the trio of Christmas trees in the middle of the wall. The stone pillars throughout the dining area had large olive branches attached to them which gave the effect of the “Winter Wonderland”; we up-lit these branches with turquoise. The effect it gave was magical and made you feel as if you were out in the middle of a snowy forest. The fireplace near the bar had a simple electric fireplace insert which gave a dull ember glow. We added to this glow by playing off the Scrooge part of the theme and adding a lighting effect that gave the fireplace a more vibrant orange rippling effect that mimicked a fire. We had a lot of fun doing the up-lighting for this event. It was exciting to see how the lighting can transform, compliment and enhance an already well decorated room.

Josh & Marites Blair Wedding – August 8, 2009

This unforgettable night happened at one of the most unforgettable venues on the Central Coast. The historic and famous Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo was the ideal location to hold their memorable reception. The Madonna Inn has unique themes to each one of their rooms and Josh and Marites chose The Venetian Room. This room has the feeling of a cellar with the low ceilings, rock pillars and dim lighting, but you would never guess you were in a basement from the glow that radiated from this couple. From the moment they entered the room until their last dance, their radiant smiles and laughs filled the whole room. We were also able to help with the dungeonous feel of this room by providing some up-lighting to the room. We color washed the walls behind the head table and up-lit the rock pillars with a violet coloration. The effects were stunning.

There’s no other way to describe Josh and Marites than with the words “cute” and “adorable.” As separate individuals and as a couple, they are absolutely adorable, fun and just such a pleasure to be around. Josh and I graduated high school together, which made this event even more personal for me. Marites looked so elegant and beautiful in her dress, but was also so welcoming, appreciative and warm. Josh was handsome and dapper in his attire, but so fun and approachable at the same time. The bridal party flattered this couple with all the wonderful words and experiences that they shared during the toast, and it was easy to see why they are so loved and adored. Josh and Marites’ fun energy spilled over into the night’s festivities and dancing. They put on a little skit during the garter toss with the removal of a “chastity belt” with the modern flair of a remote control. Josh cued me to do the “bleep-bleep” sound of a car alarm being deactivated as he pushed a button on a remote control that was pointed at Marites. Then he gingerly removed the chastity belt and garter. The guests loved it! Something else these guests loved was line dancing, especially Marites’ family. Just about every aunt, mom and grandma of hers was out there kicking up their heels and boogying away to several line dances. It was a shame to see this night come to an end, but I know that Josh and Marites will have many more fun and memorable experiences. I’m thankful that I was fortunate enough to be a part of this one.
